After the Kharkov art school in 1985 he graduated from the Kharkov art-industrial institute. 5 years later, after participating in republican and all-Union exhibitions in Kharkov, Kiev, Moscow, Korkishko became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, although this was then approved in Moscow by the Union of Artists of the USSR.
