One external backpack frame from the Ferguson estate, the freighter pattern a hunter uses to pack meat and camp gear out of the timber. The frame is built from bent aluminum tubing with welded and riveted cross members and a shelf at the bottom to carry a load. It has padded shoulder straps with adjusting buckles, a wide mesh back band that holds the frame off your back so air can move behind it, a laced padded lumbar pad set on grommets, and a padded wrap around hip belt with wings that put the weight on your hips instead of your shoulders. All of the webbing, buckles and clevis pins that we can see are present and the frame is straight with no cracked welds found. No pack bag is included, only the frame and the harness. The aluminum is dull and scuffed, the fabric is grimy and faded, and the foam in the belt has compressed with age. Condition is fair. An external frame is still the right tool for a heavy awkward load because a meat shelf, a cooler or a bucket lashes straight to the tubing. Estimated Value: $15 to $30 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
