Vintage Coiled Grass Basket Embroidered Motifs

Updated September 22, 2026

Hand-carved and hand-painted wooden Navajo Code Talker figure measuring approximately 7" tall x 2.75" wide. The figure depicts a seated serviceman in a bright yellow military-style uniform with painted insignia, cross-body strap, belt, red cap, white trousers, and carved accessories held in both hands. The expressive carved face features closed eyes and a distinctive elongated form, all mounted on an integral rectangular wooden base. The underside is hand-inscribed “Navajo Code Talker 2014” along with what appears to be the artist’s name/signature, though the signature is difficult to decipher. A separate old price label is also present on the bottom. Displays light surface wear consistent with age and display. Exact artist attribution has not been independently identified. An interesting piece of Navajo folk art, Native American wood carving, Code Talker memorabilia, military history, and Southwestern collectible art. See photos for details and condition.
