Mykhailo Patskan. ?AAA4865 The acrylic painting on cardboard titled "Sunset Haze Over the Mountains" is an expressive and vivid portrayal of a breathtaking evening sky, where the setting sun bathes the landscape in a warm, fiery glow. Using bold, dynamic brushstrokes and a striking interplay of colors, the artist captures the fleeting yet mesmerizing moment when daylight transitions into twilight, and the mountains become veiled in the misty hues of dusk. At the heart of the composition is the radiant sun, partially obscured by swirling clouds that reflect its golden light. The sky is an explosion of warm yellows, oranges, and deep reds, contrasting against the cooler blues and purples that form the distant mountains. The brushwork is loose and expressive, giving the painting a sense of movement, as if the sky itself is alive with energy. The layering of thick, impasto strokes adds texture, enhancing the depth and drama of the scene. Beneath this glowing sky, the landscape unfolds in shadowed blues and purples, suggesting rolling hills and dense forests stretching toward the horizon. The dark silhouettes of evergreen trees stand in stark contrast to the vibrant sky, their forms appearing softened by the evening haze. The artist’s use of color gradation in the mountains, shifting from deep blues to lighter tones, creates a sense of atmospheric perspective, drawing the viewer’s eye further into the scene. In the foreground, hints of dark earthy browns and greens suggest a rugged terrain, possibly a mountain meadow or a hillside path. The brushwork here is gestural, allowing the viewer to interpret the landscape in an abstract yet deeply emotional way. The blending of cool and warm tones reflects the way light dissipates as the sun sinks lower, leaving behind a rich, luminous afterglow. The most striking element of this painting is its ability to convey mood through color. The fiery brilliance of the sunset evokes feelings of warmth, hope, and wonder, while the deep purples and blues of the landscape add a sense of mystery and tranquility. The contrast between these elements creates a powerful visual impact, drawing the viewer into the beauty of nature’s spectacle. This artwork does not just depict a landscape; it captures the essence of an ephemeral moment—one that disappears almost as quickly as it appears. The swirling clouds, the glowing light, and the darkened land all contribute to an atmosphere of awe, as if nature itself is putting on a final display before nightfall. *** ABOUT THIS PAINTING *** * TITLE: "Sunset haze over the mountains" * ARTISTS: Mykhailo Patskan * SIZE: 20x30 cm/'7.87x11.81 inches' * MEDIUM: acrylic, cardboard * HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection * CONDITION: Photos provide accurate information about the product.
