A large group of English terracotta art pottery finished in cream slip and hand-painted with the Cottage pattern. The assortment includes a variety of forms such as a large pitcher, loving cup, teapot, toast rack, and multiple small creamers and dishes featuring sgraffito-style proverbs. A circular stamp on the large creamer base reads DARTMOUTH POTTERY DEVON MADE IN ENGLAND, while a small mug bears a stamp for WATCOMBE TORQUAY ENGLAND and the ashtrays are marked LONGPARK TORQUAY ENGLAND. The largest piece measures 6 inches. A chip is present on the pitcher spout. All pieces exhibit widespread fine crazing to the cream slip and scattered small nicks to rims and bases consistent with age and use.
