English hand-painted earthenware pieces featuring cream slip over red clay bodies decorated with cottage scenes and blue dotted borders. The group is inscribed with various proverbs and place names. Several items bear circular black printed marks for DARTMOUTH POTTERY DEVON or WATCOMBE TORQUAY ENGLAND. The largest plates are 10 inches in diameter and the tallest pitcher is 7 inches high. The group exhibits fine surface crazing and minor glaze chips to the rims and bases. Surface scratches and shelf wear are visible on the undersides. No professional repairs are noted.
