River Stone Pottery salt/spice shaker in blue/green glaze. Sometimes referred to as a magic salt shaker this design originated in ancient Greece. The design allows for the salt, or spices, to be no affected by humidity. In 1901 a British company patent this design. You pour regular salt directly into the large bottom hole. When you set the shaker upright on the table, the salt falls around the outside of the inner cone. When you shake it a small amount of salt travels back up the inner cone and out. Comes with matching plate. 2.5" tall, 2.75 wide. Plate is 3.5" diameter.
