Oil on canvas by Arnold Cowper. "Lower Brighton" 22" X 28". Signed lower right. Dated 1983, framed. Title on reverse. Arnold Walter Cowper (1954–2023) was a New Brunswick artist from Woodstock, best known for his realistic landscape paintings in oil, watercolour, and charcoal. His passion for art began in childhood, and he was mentored by his uncle, Reverend Randolph Nicholson, a noted Canadian artist. Cowper drew much of his inspiration from the New Brunswick landscape, capturing country scenes, rivers, forests, sunsets, and golf courses with a keen eye for detail and atmosphere. His paintings were exhibited and collected throughout Canada and internationally, with works also commissioned for public and private collections.
