Porcelain Lover Figurines.

29*29*69cm

A large pair of European Victorian porcelain figural groups depicting an aristocratic couple. Highly favoured drawing-room ornaments of the period, they represent a classic category of antique porcelain collectibles. Rendered in the Rococo taste for aristocratic figures, the figures' skin is modelled in matte unglazed biscuit porcelain with soft, delicate tonal quality. Their costumes and plinths are decorated with overglaze hand painting, extensively outlined with hand gilding. Floral and brocade motifs are entirely hand-painted in fine, touching detail. The figures possess natural, well-proportioned forms with noble and handsome facial expressions. The circular plinths are colourfully decorated, edged with scrolling small flowers simulating garden earth and rockwork. Rarely preserved complete and intact, showing only normal signs of age.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
