Excellent selection of a highly collectible vintage mid-century modern solid sterling silver miniature basket retailed by the luxury house Cartier. The piece showcases exceptional artisan silversmithing, featuring a body formed from hand-interwoven sterling silver strips. A top-down look reveals an open-weave grid interior transitioning cleanly into a solid upper rim, crowned with a high-arching spade-ended basket handle. The solid upper rim is clearly struck with the crisp, official signature stamps: "Cartier" in flowing script font, immediately followed by "HAND-MADE STERLING" in block letters, certifying its .925 silver purity and high-end mid-20th-century luxury design provenance. The silver surfaces display an aged, untouched finish showing rich golden-bronze tarnish patina alongside iridescent rainbow oxidation accents, suggesting that it has never been aggressively cleaned or over polished.
