WW II Lockheed P-38 Lightning 1:18 scale plane. Perfect for any hobbyist to put on display. The model was produced by 21st Century Toys, a toy manufacturer best known for their highly detailed and historically accurate military action figures and vehicles. The plane measures 25” in length with a wingspan of 34.5”. The plane features a high level of interactive detail, including rotating propellers, moveable landing gears, and an opening cockpit canopy. Plane comes complete with a pilot figure as well. The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a revolutionary twin-engine, twin boom fighter that served as one of the most versatile and feared American aircraft of World War II. Designed by Clarence “Kelly” Johnson, the P-38’s unique layout was developed by the need to house large turbo-superchargers and heavy armament. It was the first military airplane to exceed 400 mph in level flight. During the war, German pilots dubbed it “The Fork-Tailed Devil” and were weary to face it in air battles. ** SHIPPING DISCLAIMER: Due to the size and weight of this item, we are unable to provide in-house shipping.
