This lot is for 2 antique mantle clocks. German Junghans Mantel Clock - wonderful vintage Junghans mantel clock that includes the key. Features roman numeral hours and detailed cast brass spandrels accentuating the four corners of the dial plate. Three winding key holes. Great visual appearance, appears to be in general good order but suggested to take to a specialist for full review of operating conditions. Does appear to have some aging wear. Measures 11” tall x 8” wide x 5” depth. Antique W.M. Gilbert Mantle Clock- Antique W.M. Gilbert Mantle Clock, perfect for display and collection purposes. Produced by the W.M. Gilbert Clock Company sometime between 1890-1910, this wooden mantle clock features an ornamental Victorian aesthetic within a black-enameled wood case. The clock features brass-embossed bezel face and three wood columns on either side and marble trim. The clock features an 8-day mechanical wind-up movement and strikes on the full hour with a cathedral gong sound and the half-hour with a single toll or bell chime. The W.M. Gilbert Clock Company was a major American clock manufacturer in Winsted, Connecticut. Clock maker William L. Gilbert created the company with his own name and began making clocks as far back as 1828. Clock measures 11.5” H x 15.5” W x 6” D. Clock still makes ticking noises and chimes on the hour but probably needs to be properly configured to be put to proper use.
