Civil War US Army M1850 Foot Officer Sword. Single edged, bright blade with fuller. Double acid etched with floral & patriotic designs. Maker marked by Klingenthal on the spine. Leather buffer pad. Decorated brass hilt with fishskin and twisted wire wrapped grip. Gold bullion threaded portepee. Leather scabbard with brass fittings. Blade Length: 29" Total Length: 34 1/2" Condition: Good. Light wear, oxidation, dark spots and finish loss. Light pitting near the tip.
