19th Century Mexican and European Cavalry Trooper Swords. (1) Mexican Cavalry Sword. Patterned after French Model AN XI. Straight, acid etched with Mexican eagle and snake on cactus and floral patterns. No visible maker marks. Steel hilt with twisted wire wrapped grip. No scabbard. (1) European Cavalry Trooper Sword. Patterned after British P1853. Straight blade with fuller. No visible maker marks or stamps. Steel three branch D guard hilt and wood handle. Blade Length: 31" to 33 1/2" Total Length: 35 1/2" to 38 1/2" Condition: Fair. Heavy oxidation and pitting on the blades. Wood grip is cracked.
