Rae, Barbara (Scottish, b. 1943). Achill 2. Etching with aquatint and relief . AP. ND. Designated A/P, titled, and signed below platemark. 6 1/4" x 8 1/2" (Sight). 16 1/4 x 17 3/4" (Frame). Matted in a wood frame. Not examined out of frame. Barbara Rae is a Scottish painter and printmaker whose vivid, abstracted landscapes draw on decades of travel and a lifelong engagement with geography. Trained at Edinburgh College of Art and long affiliated with the Glasgow School of Art, she has exhibited widely and earned major honors, including election to both the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy. Her work is held in leading museums in the UK and abroad.
