Vintage 1930s Excel Mfg Corp Metal Sewing Caddy Box This rare 1930s art deco era metal sewing canister was crafted by the Excel Manufacturing Corporation in Muncie, Indiana. The heavy-gauge tin caddy features a vibrant, rich tomato-red finish with a contrasting dark brown ombr factory shading around the lid's decorative wooden ball knob. Spanning roughly 7.5 inches wide, the round, cushion-shaped container houses its original three-piece setup: the main bottom storage bowl, a nesting donut-shaped interior utility tray for sorting thread spools, and the matching domed cover. The base retains a crisp, historical patent label listing early industrial design patents from the era.
