An assortment of early-to-mid 20th-century vernacular photography and ephemera, primarily of Canadian interest. The grouping consists of silver gelatin snapshots, sepia-toned prints, and printed postcards. Notable items include a newsprint clipping titled Family of Heavy Weights Donald Roach of Cornwall and His Six Sons, a printed postcard of Convocation Hall - Toronto, and an infant snapshot with the handwritten inscription Life scene. The collection encompasses diverse subject matter including family group portraits, individuals in period dress, and architectural views of a large multi-story brick institutional building. Also featured are industrial scenes depicting a funicular railway and a crane. The items are loose and unmounted, with a portion of the prints stored in a simple cardboard box. Dimensions measured against a tape measure: individual prints range approx. 2.5 in. to 5.5 in. wide; storage box approx. 8.5 in. wide. Condition: The collection exhibits signs of age and handling consistent with vintage paper materials. Observed condition issues include surface soiling, edge curling, light foxing, and silvering to the dark areas of the silver gelatin snapshots. Some examples show creases or small marginal tears. The newsprint clipping is toned and shows visible fold lines.
