Chinese doucai porcelain "Grapes and Chicks" bottle vases. Dimension: The vases are decorated in the classic doucai (??, "contending colors") style. The intricate scene is outlined in subtle underglaze cobalt blue, fired, and then meticulously filled in with translucent overglaze enamels—including vibrant greens, purples, and iron-reds—before a final low-temperature firing. Each vase displays a round medallion framing a charming scene of fledgling chicks pecking beneath ripe, hanging grapevines. The grapes represent a wish for continuous lineage and abundant fertility, while the foraging chickens are a classic imperial motif representing family harmony
