exceptionally expressive, miniature Japanese netsuke (or small okimono figurine), beautifully carved in the traditional style of the Edo to Meiji periods (19th century). Dimension: 6.5cm L The figurine depicts a bald, intense-looking man crouched low over his work. He is captured in mid-motion, leaning all of his body weight forward as he painstakingly works on a rectangular wooden block.
