A collection of US Lincoln cents of varying dates from 1909 through 1998, including both Wheat and Memorial reverse designs. The coins are housed in four blue and two brown cardboard folders. One folder is a Whitman Official Coin Folder for Lincoln Cents 1909 to 1940 (No. 9004), and another is an H.E. Harris & Co. folder for Lincoln Head Cents 1941 to 1974. Two additional Whitman folders cover the periods 1941 to 1974 (No. 9030) and 1975 to current (No. 9033). The collection includes three 1943 zinc-coated steel cents. Several slots are marked with handwritten notations on adhesive labels or directly on the folder pages, including "Small D?" and "1969-S". The coins consist of copper andcopper-plated zinc compositions. The coins exhibit a range of circulated conditions from good to uncirculated. Many early Wheat cents show significant honest wear and dark chocolate-brown toning (photo 2). The 1943 steel cents exhibit typical oxidation and spotting to the zinc coating.
