Oil on canvas, framed. Attributed to Guy C. Wiggins (1883–1962). Depicting a winter city street with tall commercial buildings, a Gothic-style cathedral, American flags suspended across the roadway, pedestrians with umbrellas, and cars including taxis moving along a snow-covered street, the composition reflects Wiggins’s established Impressionist-influenced approach to New York subjects, characterized by loose brushwork, atmospheric handling of weather, and softened architectural contours. Signed Wiggins at the lower right. Labels on verso of Galeries of Associated American Artist dated 1932 and American Art. 78.7 x 49.5 cm (31" x 19.5"), framed: 102.8 x 72.3 cm (40.5" x 28.5").
