An exceptionally attractive three-work collection of signed limited edition wildlife art by Robert Bateman, John Seerey-Lester and Liz Lesperance, bringing together three accomplished interpreters of North American waterfowl and wetland habitat in a particularly cohesive group. Encompassing Canada geese, mallards, marshland, reflective water and autumn wetlands, the collection offers immediate appeal to collectors of Canadian wildlife art, bird and waterfowl art, sporting art, conservation imagery and finely rendered contemporary realism.

The collection is led by Robert Bateman's Canada Geese Nesting, a beautifully observed depiction of a pair of Canada geese occupying a quiet waterside environment. A standing bird commands the foreground while its companion rests nearby against a subdued, mist-filled woodland and wetland landscape. Bateman's extraordinary ability to combine ornithological accuracy with atmosphere and habitat is fully evident, from the layered feathering of the geese to the still water, shoreline vegetation and restrained tonal palette. Pencil signed by Robert Bateman and numbered 633/950, the work represents the highly collectible signed limited edition format most closely associated with the artist's rise to international prominence. Bateman remains one of Canada's most recognized wildlife painters, and his finest bird compositions have long held particular appeal among collectors of wildlife, sporting and conservation art. Professionally presented in a coordinated mat measuring 30 3/4 x 37 1/2 in.

John Seerey-Lester's Island Sanctuary - Mallards provides the most limited edition component of the group and is especially desirable as an Artist's Proof, pencil signed and designated AP 36/56. The composition depicts a secluded gathering of mallards sheltered among dense marsh reeds, the birds partially concealed within an intricate environment of grasses, reflections and shallow water. The remarkably small Artist's Proof issue of only 56 examples gives the present impression an important scarcity advantage over the regular numbered edition and considerably strengthens its collector interest. Seerey-Lester became internationally admired for narrative wildlife painting distinguished by precise animal observation, dramatic natural environments and an exceptional command of atmospheric light. The present work is a particularly refined example of his waterfowl imagery, balancing minute naturalistic detail with the tranquility of an undisturbed wetland sanctuary. Professionally matted to 28 1/2 x 21 1/4 in.

Completing the collection is Liz Lesperance's Winging Westward, a dramatic panoramic Canada goose composition capturing four birds in the moment of departure from an autumn marsh. With wings fully extended and water erupting beneath them, the geese move across the composition with exceptional energy, while the muted woodland and marsh vegetation beyond provide an atmospheric seasonal backdrop.
