A remarkable pairing of two of the most ambitious memorabilia cards produced for 2000-01 Topps Heritage Hockey, bringing together both hand-numbered The Original Six multi-relic issues, each limited to only 55 examples: the OSJ Multi Jersey Relic, numbered 23/55, and the OSA Multi Arena Relic, numbered 48/55. Trading Card Database identifies the OSJ as the set's serial-numbered Multi Jersey Relic and the OSA as its serial-numbered Multi Arena Relic, both issued to just 55 copies.<br><br>More than conventional hockey cards, these two pieces unite the human and architectural history of the NHL's legendary Original Six franchises - Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs - through twelve separate pieces of hockey memorabilia.<br><br>The first card, The Original Six Authentic Player-Worn Jerseys, incorporates six substantial circular textile relics representing one player from each Original Six club. As identified on the reverse, the swatches derive from jerseys associated with Alexei Zhamnov of the Chicago Blackhawks, Theoren Fleury of the New York Rangers, Chris Osgood of the Detroit Red Wings, Joe Thornton of the Boston Bruins, Saku Koivu of the Montreal Canadiens and Tie Domi of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The card itself states that the displayed material consists of pieces of game-worn jerseys, while contemporary checklist documentation categorizes the corresponding Original Six jersey relics as player-worn memorabilia.<br><br>Visually, the six relic windows present an unusually effective cross-section of Original Six color and textile character, including white, cream, red and dark jersey material. The combination of Thornton, Fleury, Koivu, Domi, Osgood and Zhamnov gives the card broad cross-franchise appeal, while the hand-numbered 23/55 designation places it among the very limited production run of the complete six-team multi-jersey format.<br><br>Its companion is arguably even more evocative from a hockey-history perspective.
