Scarce vintage 2-pound Benn-Hubb peanut butter jar produced for the Bennett-Hubbard Candy Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee, circa 1930s–early 1940s. Heavy clear glass construction with a square grid pattern and prominent embossed "Finest Quality Benn-Hubb Peanut Butter" advertising. Additional embossing identifies the Bennett-Hubbard Candy Company and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The larger 2-pound size is considerably harder to find than the smaller Benn-Hubb jars. Fitted with a vintage Atlas metal screw lid, which may be a period replacement. Measures approximately 7.5 inches tall and 3.5 x 3.5 inches. Glass shows cloudiness, scratches and residue consistent with age. The metal lid has oxidation and surface wear. Please inspect the photographs for chips, cracks and other imperfections. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding. Estimated Auction Value: $35–$60
