Antique utility jug made from clear glass with a noticeable pale-purple or amethyst tint. This coloration is commonly associated with manganese-containing glass that changes color after prolonged ultraviolet exposure. Features a rounded shoulder and glass loop handle. * Measures approximately 11 inches tall * Base measures approximately 6.5 inches in diameter * Approximately one-gallon capacity * Estimated early 1900s * Unmarked except for a small molded number on the base * Interior haze, mineral residue and cloudiness * Numerous scratches and surface wear from age and use * No obvious chips or cracks observed in the photographs * Natural versus accelerated ultraviolet color change has not been determined If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
