Antique pre-Prohibition stoneware whiskey jug with cobalt advertising stencil reading: "W. Schneider Wholesale Wine & Liquor Co. 915 Franklin Ave. St. Louis, Mo." Features a light salt-glazed body with a dark brown glazed shoulder and neck. W. Schneider operated as a St. Louis wholesale wine and liquor dealer before Prohibition. Dating approximately 1890–1918. Measures approximately 9.5 inches tall. Good antique condition with glaze irregularities, staining, scuffing and wear appropriate for age. A firing line or hairline is visible on the underside.
