Antique Illinois Central Railroad switch lock manufactured by Adams & Westlake and marked Adlake on the hinged keyhole cover. The reverse is stamped I.C.R.R. for the Illinois Central Railroad. Includes the pictured working key and attached heavy steel chain. The lock has been tested and works. An attached handwritten provenance note states that the ICRR lock and key were given by Bud Flowers, who was a fireman on the Illinois Central during the early 1940s. Dating to approximately the 1920s–1940s. Measures approximately 3.5 inches x 3 inches, excluding the chain. Displays aged gray patina, oxidation, scratches, and surface wear appropriate for railroad use and age. This piece came from the railroad collection of Mr. Percy Hill of Magnolia, Mississippi.
