Spanish-Style Cavalry Sword With Scabbard

Late-19th-century-style cavalry sword featuring a straight, single-edged fullered blade, sheet-metal bowl guard, wire-wrapped grip and steel scabbard with suspension bands. Measures approximately 41 inches long overall. An estate tag attributes it as a "Toledo Spanish Cavalry Sword, 1870," but no Toledo arsenal marking or date is visible in the provided photographs. That attribution has not been independently verified and should not be stated as fact. The blade has gray patina, oxidation and scratches. The guard and scabbard exhibit substantial rust and finish loss. The grip wrapping is heavily worn and partially loose, and the scabbard’s suspension rings appear absent. Do not clean or polish. This item came from a collector’s estate. We have not authenticated it, and it is being sold exactly as acquired.
