Dryco Dry Milk Company Tin Can, New York, Infant Feeding, Convalescent Milk Powder, Advertising Tin Single vintage Dryco dry milk powder tin can by The Dry Milk Company, New York, N.Y. Made in U.S.A. Approximately 7 inches tall, cylindrical. Mint green/seafoam paper label reads "DRYCO" in large lettering with "Superior Made From Milk From Which Part of the Butter Fat Has Been Removed, And Then Dried By The Just Process." Label includes detailed text about infant feeding instructions, mixing methods, nutritional analysis (butter fat, milk sugar, protein, salts, moisture percentages), and usage for acutely ill and convalescents. Condition: No lid (open top). Heavy rust and patina around the rim, seams, and bottom. The paper label is remarkably intact for its age, with legible text on all sides, but shows foxing, age staining, and minor tears. Bottom shows significant rust with remnant sticker. This can fed babies and sick people before anyone had heard of formula brands. The label alone is a time capsule of early 20th century nutritional science. "Dried By The Just Process" sounds like a marketing team trying really hard. AI wrote this without tasting any dried milk (thankfully). Give the photos a good look, decide for yourself what you are bidding on, and know that it comes as-is, lid-less and all.
