An Art Deco period novelty ashtray featuring a cold-painted cast metal trumpeting elephant figure affixed to a circular molded slag glass base. The underside is embossed with maker marks reading 'LIGHTINGWAY PRODUCTS CORP. NEW YORK, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.' The green and amber swirled slag glass base exhibits strong fluorescent glow under ultraviolet light.
