An antique patinated and parcel-gilt bronze urn in the Aesthetic Movement or Japonisme taste, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, likely French or Japanese in origin. The baluster-form body is cast with raised and incised decoration depicting botanical foliage, flowering vines, and various insects including a dragonfly and beetles, all flanked by stylized handles with floral rosettes and geometric borders. The vessel is raised on a cast foot and mounted to a turned black stone base.
