Matted; hand signed; approximately 24" X 19". Doug Henry was a late local artist based in Evansville, Indiana (Southern Indiana area). Born in Iowa, he studied Fine Art at the University of Nebraska, where he earned his BFA. He later moved to Evansville and lived there for the rest of his life. His notable achievements include: 1973: Hoosier Salon “Jury Prize of Distinction, Traditional.” 1975: Award for “Landscape Composition of any Medium.” 1975–2014: Elected artist member of the Brown County Art Guild. 1982: His watercolor Around July selected for the Indiana Bell telephone-book cover. 2000: Retired as Art Supervisor from the largest advertising agency in Indiana. Henry painted primarily in his home studio, drawing motivation and inspiration from the landscapes and scenes of Southern Indiana. He worked in both watercolors and acrylics, with a range spanning realistic to abstract styles. Must bring your own packing materials, boxes and help to load items.
