Lot contains two decorative sculptures. The first is a hand-carved wooden folk art figure depicting a gray tabby cat seated among yellow tulips on an oval green-painted base. The cat features painted black stripes and yellow eyes withprotruding wire whiskers. The underside of the base is inscribed in blue ink G I G H o s f e l d 1 9 8 3. The second sculpture is a skeletal wire model of a three-masted sailing ship constructed from brass or bronze-toned wire and sheetmetal plates. The ship is mounted to a natural wood plinth by a central metal support. The metal components exhibit a dark, aged patina.The wooden cat sculpture shows significant losses to the tips of both ears (photo 1). Several wire whiskers are bent out of shape (photo 1).
