R.E. Dietz Company produced this pairing of cold blast kerosene lanterns in New York. The Acme Inspector features a large conical metal reflector and a clear Fitzall glass globe. The Little Wizard model includes a red glass globe embossedwith the maker mark. These authentic tools represent classic early 20th-century American industrial lighting design. The red globe displays an embossed oval reading DIETZ above LITTLE WIZARD and N.Y. U.S.A. The clear globe is embossedDIETZ above FITZALL and NEW YORK. The larger lantern metal body bears an embossed oval mark reading DIETZ above ACME INSPECTOR LAMP and NEW YORK U.S.A. The larger lantern is 14 inches tall.These industrial artifacts exhibit a rich surface oxidation and heavy rust patina consistent with age and service history. The embossed glass globes remain intact with bold colors and clear text.
