A pair of hand-carved and painted wooden shorebird decoys by William Ted Hanks. These sanderling figures feature detailed incised feathering, inset glass eyes, and black wire legs. Both birds are hand-signed in black ink on the undersides.Due to damage, neither bird is currently able to stand on its own. Each bird measures 5 inches in height.The feeding bird has a broken beak tip, a missing tail feather tip, and a broken toe. A crack is visible at the leg join. The standing bird shows a chip to the tail. Surface wear present.
