Antique Improved Eagle No. 3A Corn Sheller – Working – Cast Iron Flywheel Antique Improved Eagle No. 3A hand-operated corn sheller featuring a large cast-iron spoked flywheel, hand crank with wooden handle, exposed gear mechanism, cast-iron shelling components, and original wooden cabinet and stand. Retains attractive original red painted surfaces and period stenciled lettering reading “IMPROVED,” “No. 3A,” and “EAGLE SHELLER.” The surviving original paint and graphics add considerably to its primitive farm and Americana appeal. TESTED AND WORKING. The sheller was manually operated during cataloging and the crank, gears, flywheel, and shelling mechanism functioned. A video of the machine operating was recorded and is included/available with the lot... This substantial early agricultural machine was designed to remove corn kernels from the cob by feeding corn through the upper opening while turning the hand crank. Shows authentic age and use, including surface oxidation/rust, dust, scratches, finish wear, fading, and wear to the wood and painted surfaces. It has not been restored or refinished, preserving its desirable aged appearance and original graphics. Please review photographs and video for overall condition. A terrific example for collectors of antique farm machinery, corn shellers, primitive tools, agricultural advertising, Americana, country-store décor, and early mechanical equipment.
