British No. 4 Mk. II Spike Bayonet w/ Scabbard This is a British No. 4 Mk. II spike bayonet and scabbard, which was the standard design for the British military during World War II. The bayonet was designed primarily for thrusting rather than cutting or slashing. It was intended to provide soldiers with a close-quarters combat option if their rifle's ammunition ran out or became ineffective. It was used by the United Kingdom during World War II, from 1941 to 1954. The bayonet was the standard for all Lee Enfield No. 4 rifles. Overall length: approximately 10 inches; blade length: approximately 8 inches.
