Handcrafted stoneware pottery bowl or small crock with a rounded, bulbous body, slightly tapered opening, and simple rolled rim. The piece has a warm earthy brown caramel glaze with natural dark speckling throughout, giving it a rustic studio-pottery appearance. Wheel-thrown construction is visible in the circular forming marks. The underside is signed or incised by the maker and appears to include “Elkus ’97,” possibly indicating a 1997 production date. Dimensions are approximately 3 1/2"h x 4 1/2"diameter. Fair condition due to showing surface wear, discoloration, residue, and scattered marks consistent with age and use. Most importantly, there is a significant curved crack/break on the underside surrounding the raised center area of the base.
