2.255 lbs Stromatolite fossil or a type of calcitic/chert replacement of a layered organic structure. • Colonies of Growth: The rough, porous, tan-colored material on the back reveals how the layers originally stacked up during growth. •Fracture & Texture: The vertical fracture line exposes a clean break, showing a tight, microcrystalline matrix inside, while the outer rind remains grainy and textured. •Sedimentary Deposition: You can see how the fine, agate-like bands on the bottom left transition directly into the thicker, grainier host rock on the top right.
