STORY PICTURE BEAST KNOB LOTUS LEAF LID JAR. <br>Height:32cm (12.60in) , Diameter:23cm (9.06in) Wide?shouldered jar with tapering lower body and ring foot. It is fitted with a wavy?rim lotus?leaf?style cover surmounted by a mythical?beast knob. The surface is richly decorated in underglaze?blue in multiple bands: cloud scrolls on neck, banana?leaf frieze on shoulder, and stylized lotus?petal panels near foot. The main body depicts a narrative scene of scholars in a courtyard, complete with pavilions, railings, pines and rock?work. Figures are vividly portrayed within a well?composed dense composition. The cobalt blue is rich and saturated with fluid outline drawing. Base bears underglaze?blue double?square?frame six?character regular?script mark ??Da?Ming Cheng?Hua Nian?Zhi??.
