PAINTED THE PICTURE OF A HUNDRED BUDDHAS COMING TO PAY HOMAGE. <br>Long:1989cm (783.07in) Width:72.4cm (28.50in) Line-drawing religious figure scroll on silk. The frontispiece bears the title "Hundreds of Buddhas Gathering". The scroll depicts arhats, guardian deities and sacred beasts with steady, flowing outline strokes, inheriting Wu Daozi??s famous "flying drapery" style. Ancient scholar colophons are attached at the end, preserved in original antique dragon-pattern silk mounting. Known as the Sage of Painting, Wu Daozi pioneered Tang religious figure painting.
