SQUARE SEAL. <br>Height:5.6cm (2.20in) , Width:6.9cm (2.72in) , Weight:420g (0.926lb) A square seal of Qing Dynasty, carved from rich dense Shoushan Tianhuang stone with deep golden?yellow tone, natural stone veins and thick antique patina. The knob is high?relief carved with three frolicking chilong dragons. The main chilong rests in dominant pose, while two smaller ones coil around, with vivid postures, full musculature and curly manes, executed in mature rounded carving with multi?layer open?work. One side bears fluid running?script colophon recording the origin of the seal. The square seal face is vermilion seal in dignified mellow seal?script, well?balanced layout with forceful full strokes and sharp deep grooves. Heavy aged cinnabar seal?paste remains.
