Hand Carved Wood Seated Figure Sculpture

Updated September 15, 2026

ABV1000

Striking hand-carved wood sculpture depicting a stylized seated figure in a contemplative pose, with elbows resting on the knees and hands framing the face. The piece features an elegant elongated form, exaggerated facial features, and a rich dark finish that gives it strong visual impact and modern sculptural appeal.

The figure is carved with a highly expressive face, including heavy lidded eyes, pronounced brows, a long angular nose, and defined lips. The hairstyle is detailed with carved bands at the front and a textured bun at the back. Its elongated arms and curved body create a fluid, abstract silhouette that works beautifully as a decorative accent or collectible art piece.

Mounted on an integral carved base, this sculpture has a sophisticated folk art or African-inspired aesthetic and displays well from every angle. A great addition to a collection of hand-carved wood art, global decor, or figurative sculpture.

Condition Statement:

Pre-owned condition with light wear consistent with age and display. Shows minor surface scratches, small scuffs, and general finish variation. The base retains a partially worn paper label/sticker on the underside.

Measures approx. 6-7 inches tall
