Bullseye is a big-hearted, honest gelding standing right at 15 hands and weighing approximately 1,050 lbs. He is still growing and I expect him to mature around 15.1 HH. This is the kind of horse that comes to work with a willing attitude and a job to do. Whether you need him around the ranch, in the feedlot, or headed to the arena, Bullseye is ready to go. In the rodeo pen, I believe he has a bright future as a heel horse, especially in the heading/steer-roping side of the game, and he could also make an excellent calf horse. He has a very good, honest stop and the kind of feel that makes him enjoyable to ride. He is a horse that can be trusted by an experienced rider or someone with less experience. He is especially good with kids, although, as with any young horse, an experienced young rider would be the best fit. After several days off, he may come out feeling fresh and happy, but he has never been a bucker or a problem horse. From his very first day under saddle, he has always been quiet-minded and willing to work. I have had Bullseye for the past three years, and he has spent roughly two years working around a feedlot. He has been around trucks, loaders, large numbers of cattle, motorcycles, and plenty of other horses. He has also been used at branding events and on a couple of ranch rodeo outings, and he has always handled himself well. This summer, we spent time trail riding in the mountains, and that is where he really proved what kind of horse he is. He crossed rivers, climbed rocky hills, and went through rough country that not every horse would willingly take on. He stayed honest, sure-footed, and willing throughout the ride. Bullseye is a grade gelding with the mind, heart, and versatility to go in just about any direction you choose. I believe he has the potential to make a very nice rodeo horse, but he could just as easily become a dependable ranch horse or a great trail and family companion. He has put in the miles, seen the real world, and is ready to go make a name for himself with his next owner.
