11 Mid-Century Illustrated Childrens Books

An assortment of 11 vintage children's books and educational readers dating from 1954 to 1968. The group includes two I Can Read books published by Harper & Row: This is the House Where Jack Lives (1962) by Joan Heilbroner with illustrations by Aliki, and Danny and the Dinosaur (1958) by Syd Hoff. Two educational softcovers from The Creative Reading Program published by Harper & Row include Watson The Smartest Dog in the U.S.A. (1968) and The Witches' Secret (1968). Golden Press titles include 5 Bedtime Stories (1957) with illustrations by Gustaf Tenggren and a two-in-one volume of Little Peewee and Sylvester. Also present are two Laidlaw Brothers readers, Tales to Read and Storyland Favorites (1961), two Holly Book first printings from The World Publishing Company titled Pinocchio (1966) and Puss in Boots (1965), and Icebergs and Jungles (1954) published by Hanover House. One book bears a handwritten ownership inscription reading Gustafson on the inside cover.The collection is in fair to good overall vintage condition.
