This original 1980-81 Topps NHL trading card features Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque during his rookie season with the Boston Bruins. The card, designated as number 140, is printed on standard matte cardstock with a vertical orientation on the front and a horizontal orientation on the reverse. The front displays a color action photograph of Bourque in his Bruins uniform, framed by a yellow border with a green diagonal banner reading BRUINS and a pink puck graphic labeled DEFENSE. The centering is moderately shifted toward the top and left margins on the front. Corners appear sharp with minimal rounding at the tips, and the edges are generally clean with a small fleck of white visible on the bottom front edge. The surface is free of visible creases, deep scratches, or significant print defects.
