1920s British Royal Air Force Apparatus Firing Puffs MkI. A rather scarce and interesting training device that was used to produce smoke for simulating artillery strikes on miniature training display models of battlefields. The British used the display models to train pilots and gunners for accuracy of bombing enemy targets (additional details about the use of the Apparatus Firing Puffs MkI is available by reading / viewing the images & narratives attached as images to the lot listing). Serial No 10. Includes directions, documentation, and inspection paper with two inspection dates: November 11, 1926, and August 8, 1936. Size: 10" x 12 1/2" x 6 1/2" Weight: 13.7 lbs Condition: Good. Moderate wear, not tested.
