Hand-forged or cast iron horse bit featuring ornate pierced openwork decorative plates, with clover & star-like motifs. Rusted surface consistent with age & use, no visible maker's marks. Likely used as a driving or curb bit for carriage or buggy horses. Measures 5-1/2x10-1/2 inches, with integrated rings for rein or bridle attachment.
