A group of two rectangular calling card cases. Mid-19th century. Made from mottled amber and dark brown tortoiseshell, with hinged tops and metal fittings. One decorated with a flower-filled basket and scrolling foliage, with a blank rectangular cartouche on the reverse; the other inset with a colored architectural view depicting the Crystal Palace. Both have red fabric interiors. An accompanying handwritten note identifies the floral case as belonging to “Mrs. E. F. Shiverick,” Larger: 4 1/4" x 3"
