Royal Danube was a tradename used by a prominent exporter for fine porcelain wares manufactured primarily in Japan. While the font and number often make people think it refers to the year 1886, it actually denotes a style or mold shape number. This specific line of floral, botanical, and lattice-edged porcelain was produced much later, primarily during the 1970s and 1980s
